Education in Germany

Higher Education in Germany: Your Path to Success

When we think of Germany, the word that comes to mind is "quality." The country's high academic standards, globally recognized degrees, and tuition-free education at public universities make it one of the most attractive study destinations for international students. Additionally, Germany offers opportunities for part-time work during studies and legal employment after graduation.

Why Choose Germany?

Free Education – Public universities charge only a small administrative fee.
Study in German or English – Programs are available in both languages.
Job Opportunities – Students can work 20 hours per week and stay for 18 months after graduation to find employment.
Strong Industry Demand – Engineers, IT specialists, ecologists, medical professionals, and legal experts are highly sought after.
Scholarships & Research Support – Available for outstanding academic, sports, or creative achievements.

How Can Azerbaijani Students Apply?

Since Germany’s school system lasts 13 years, Azerbaijani graduates cannot apply directly after finishing high school. Instead, they have three options:

1. Studienkolleg (University Preparation Program)

  • A one-year foundation course that bridges the education gap.

  • Five specialization tracks: Economics, Medicine, Humanities, Engineering, Natural Sciences.

  • Public Studienkollegs are tuition-free but have strict deadlines, high competition, and entrance exams.

  • Private Studienkollegs offer flexible entry dates and admission without exams but require tuition fees (starting from €5,000 per year).

2. One Year at an Azerbaijani University

  • Completing at least one year of university studies in a related field allows direct entry into a German university.

  • However, there’s no adaptation period, and academic expectations are the same as for German students.

3. Private Studienkolleg with Flexible Admission

  • Offers more flexible entry dates and no entrance exams.

  • Admission based on school grades and a language certificate (B1/B2 level).

German Language Requirement

To enter a public German university, students must have at least a B2 or C1 level of German, confirmed by an official certificate. If your German is not yet strong enough, we offer language courses in Germany with guaranteed admission to a Studienkolleg.

Costs & Financial Planning

  • Public universities: Free education (only a €130 - €350 semester fee).

  • Private universities: Tuition fees start from €4,900 per semester for business and management programs.

  • Blocked Account Requirement: €11,904 per year (as of 2025, required to cover living expenses).
